“fair enough”

This is probably one of the better dating sites but that doesn't mean it's great. I have found it to be a very frustrating experience. What's frustrating is that, like other sites, they present matches who are no longer paying members so there's an illusion that a member has many more matches than is actually the case. Members will go to send an email which will never be answered because the person is no longer a paying member and can't see your email.

This is probably one of the better dating sites but that doesn't mean it's great. I have found it to be a very frustrating experience. What's frustrating is that, like other sites, they present matches who are no longer paying members so there's an illusion that a member has many more matches than is actually the case. Members will go to send an email which will never be answered because the person is no longer a paying member and can't see your email.

“They have no mercy for broken hearted or lonely people, GO AWAY”

Plenty of fish. Not a good experience. Some very clever and manipulative scammers using the site. Having been nearly had, elsewhere, I insisted on video call with the “woman” I was chatting to, she insisted I use the one on the site indicated by an icon I could not find. She “helped me” eventually sending link to a site posing as POF video, which - surprise surprise, wanted my credit card details including ccv. Which is where I pressed the delete button. Us lonely, sometimes old, widowers etc might just as well have a target painted on our backs,

“It paid off handsomely ”

I met someone after only 2 weeks on the site. I didn't expect to meet someone this fast. We're still on the early stages of the relationship, but it seems to be going really well. And I couldn't be any luckier - she lived only a few miles away from me! I was wary of using this since the price is pretty steep, but I was willing to take the risk for this beautiful woman, and it paid off handsomely. Not sure what the statistic is for other users, but I'm pretty sure I'm one of the lucky ones. Never expected to meet a lovely woman just because I was reading The Guardian based on a headline I first saw on Facebook. Funny how life works out.

Guardian Soulmates is a dating site run by the Guardian newspaper. Their membership numbers are mostly made up of Guardian readers. The site has a very small number of members when compared to larger UK dating sites. However, that this is really a niche dating site for those with a little more culture running through their veins. There's a large number of Nigerian scammers on the site. I wish they would have better profile moderation process.

Joined Guardian soulmates, it was one of a number of dating sites that I tried out. Would say stay away if you are underemployed. Men who earn way above the national average e.g. 45k upwards expect their date not only to be physically attractive but to match them income wise.
